The hotel has been taken over by new management 5 weeks ago and they have building maintenance to do, which is on going, however, very discreet as it didn’t disturb our stay. The staff were lovely and the food was very good. I look forward to returning for another stay.

The rooms were newly renovated and large. If you do a general search on the abbey, information states gym and pool but those are not available. The restaurant menu was small. The food was great. Our server was excellent. Beautiful old estate. Great communal sitting room. I would stay again.

Lovely building, nice room and fantastic outdoor space, my dog loved the grounds! A few small touches would make it excellent: no where to hang a hand towel near the hand basin in the bathroom, no glasses for water, bedhead seemed too big. All very minor, apart from that lovely stay.

Stayed in a recently renovated room (still had masking tape on the back of the bathroom door :-)) and was very nice until I took a shower in the morning and nearly flooded the place. The waste plug had become blocked and was spilling water over the edge of the shower tray. Spent 10 minutes blotting and ringing towels out Informed the lady on reception who seemed more interested in making sure my bar cheque from the night before was charged to my card so left without any appreciation for the hassle or any contrition
