Although I have stayed at 5 star hotels on several occasions, I was amazed by the standard of service of this hotel. All the hotel staff were extremely polite and gave the true meaning to the word "valued" customer. From the first time I entered the hotel it was a different experience all together. Despite the good service at other 5 star hotels, I could always find a small detail missing. I am not picky, but when it comes to top service I know what to expect, and notice when something, as small...

Can't get a better location, near to Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Sq, Buckingham Palace...the hotel itself is immaculate, the double room was of a reasonable size, the bed so comfortable and bathroom well appointed. Shower was excellent, complimentary drinks on arrival and cookies and cranberry juice / water in the room. Downsides..not many, view was terrible and there was a slightly unusual smell in the room which you only really noticed first entering.

First impression of the hotel was not great as the lobby and lift are very small. However I am happy with the room and found the staff extremely helpful generally. It’s great to hear the staff telling American tourists about the history of royalty :)

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in London
Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit London is from January to March, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a budget-friendly trip that allows you to fully appreciate the city's rich history and culture, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended. During this time, you can explore key landmarks, such as iconic monuments, renowned theatres, and impressive museums, all offering great value for money. Whether you're interested in urban architecture, historical sites, or vibrant shopping districts, these few days will provide an enriching experience of London's cultural heritage.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover enticing last-minute deals to London, begin by exploring the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Dealsopens in new window sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Enabling email alerts or push notifications can help you stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, enhancing your chances of great savings on hotels. Additionally, the Smart Shoppingopens in new window tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re the first to know if rooms become available or prices drop for your preferred accommodations.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a more affordable stay in a London hotel. For those in search of a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised atmosphere and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could lead to a more favourable rate.
Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with London's exceptional public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that is still well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money available. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
