I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the Toon. Had a great day walking down by the river then round St James Park and up for a wee lunch on 26th floor at 360 around. Lovely city to walk about. Great wee novelty shops and cracking pubs.

Try the Point Blank Shooting experience. Very accessible and lots of fun with really helpful staff. Nice walk down to look at millennium bridge and have a drink by the water. Lots of shops in Eldon square and pubs and food everywhere.

Plenty of bars and restaurants, excellent transport system, 25 minutes from central station to Whitley Bay on the metro £5.90 for a day ticket. Be prepared to get crapped on by a seagull, especially around the Tyne Bridge.

Newcastle is a small city and easy to navigate and has a lot to offer. The theatres, restaurants, bars and shops can rival many of the bigger cities we've visited.
