Hotel was not that clean. I asked to not have service everyday I was there since the room was small and I had stuff laid out and each day someone came in moved my things and did stay over service. Luckily nothing was missing. The bed was dirty. Half the lights and outlets didn’t work. The tissue box was empty and i asked three different days for a fresh box. Never happened. There were stains on the bedding and the curtains. I asked for a different room one that had everything working and the person at the desk had zero idea what I was talking about. The floor was laminate so the bed moved very easily. You could cough and the bed would slide across the floor. The safe didn’t work and their answer was I could give them by valuables to hold on to. No thanks. The lamp shades were torn. It was just an awful room. When I asked about a different room I also asked to get a refund and stay somewhere else and the guy didn’t fully understand but kept saying the room was fine. I couldn’t get a refund and I couldn’t see the sense of paying for another hotel room elsewhere so i stayed. Everyday I dreaded going back to the room. I have tried many times to upload photos but it won't let me. I will post this now and continue to add photos.

Great location, not great room
Staff were friendly on arrival and provided directions to our room - first door looked like it was for a cupboard, with a surprise step I tripped on & surprisingly low door frame which I hit my head on. This led to the locked room door (simple lock - could not be internally secured, e.g. to stop housekeeping entering with a key whist guest is inside). Room looked fresh inside but had a musty smell - we opened the window for some fresh air which worked fairly well, although the bathroom retained a funk. Toilet and sink looked fairly new though walls/roof were poorly renovated, with visible mould in parts. (We did not feel comfortable using the shower.) Bed was comfortable and TV decent size for the room. Heating was more than sufficient. In the morning when we made the bed, I noticed the duvet slipping out of the cover - the duvet was stained in several places. Complimentary breakfast was simple but good, they had 3 types of pastries, toast with butter + 2 preserves, hardboiled eggs, cheese slices, porridge, cereals, 3 juices, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Overall, a cheap hotel in an expensive area - if it wasn't such a good location I would expect to pay 2-3x less for it. Having said that, the location was very convenient for my trip. I think the Expedia photos suggest it's a fair bit nicer than the room we got (felt like maybe our room just hadn't been used in some time?) Wouldn't recommend that room, so can't recommend the hotel based on our stay.

Very good 8.0
A nice small B&B, safe and centrally located. Good
The B&B has a good location near stores, restaurants and Victoria station is a 10 minute walk. The rooms are small but comfy, they're clean and bathrooms are good but tight. The owner's family is helpful and understanding. I really like the location in Central London. Homes are fairly posh in the area. It's very safe and somewhat International with Turkish influence moderate. In summer it'll be pricey and in Fall a reasonable price. I'd stay again if on a moderate budget. London is very expensive for hotels and this one is okay. Breakfast needs help. Too skimpy. Needs bacon and sausages, omelette station and waffles, etc. Overall 3/5 stars but I'm being generous. The Victoria area gives it a boost of 0.25 stars...

For a backpacker or a weekend trip this hotel would be fine. For a longer stay, pick somewhere else. The rooms are very very small. There is no room for luggage if you want to have a small space to move in. There are no amenities at all, the phone in the room was not even plugged in and we were not sure where it plugged in, 3 hangers in the tiny closet, no shelves to put anything on. There are no plugs in the bathroom so take an extension cord if you use an electric toothbrush or waterpik. Our room was cleaned for awhile and then that ceased until we complained. There is no elevator so if you have heavy bags be prepared ro carry them up several flights of stairs. The breakfast is fine for a day or two consisting of croissants or toast, sometimes no jam, cereals, hardboiled eggs and sliced pears, always very tasteless pears, no variety or other choices. The pub around the corner offers full breakfast for £6 when you get fed up. The people at the desk are not friendly, do not greet you. They will answer questions if asked. There are two rooms with terraces, one of which we had. The only thing that made the room bearable. It is a good location close to the train station but there must be 25 hotels surrounding the Sherriff hotel, some of which had to be better and would be our choice next time we go to London. If you are not sure if you will like it, do not pay in advance.

The first night they put us in their other hotel the Grapevine because of some electrical problem. This room was inferior. It was in the basement, dirty and the bathroom smelled. Not to mention to sit on the toilet you had to scoot your legs under the tiny sink. This was supposed to be a family room for four. You could feel the springs of the bed.I wouldn’t dare let my small children stay there. The next morning we had to haul our luggage back up to the lobby and store them in their office. When we came back we were in the Sheriff and it was a room as advertised. It was nicer but it was a nonsmoking room and the prior guest
