Old Town Edinburgh

Old Town Edinburgh's medieval charm unfolds along cobblestone streets where bagpipers perform against dramatic castle backdrops. The Royal Mile buzzes with energy as visitors duck into centuries-old closes and wynds to discover hidden treasures. Museums like the National Museum of Scotland showcase Scottish heritage while St. Giles' Cathedral's crown spire dominates the historic skyline. Traditional Scottish pubs serve hearty fare alongside famous whisky selections, perfect after exploring the neighborhood's shops offering tartans and Celtic jewellery. Most attractions sit within a 10-minute walk, with nearby Waverley Station connecting you to broader adventures throughout Scotland.

New Town

New Town dazzles with its gorgeous Georgian architecture and UNESCO status, making every stroll feel like you've stepped into a Jane Austen novel. The area serves up everything from fancy Michelin-starred restaurants to cosy traditional pubs where whisky flows freely. Boutique hotels in converted warehouses and waterfront apartments make ideal bases for exploring this vibrant district.

West End

Johnnie Walker Princes Street and Edinburgh Gin Distillery delight whisky enthusiasts, while the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art showcases world-class exhibitions. Nearby Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile provide classic Scottish experiences. Upmarket boutiques and fine dining establishments cater to luxury seekers, with sophisticated cocktail bars and whisky lounges dominating the evening scene. Cosy gastropubs and casual bistros dominate the dining scene with Scottish fare at moderate prices. 10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is beautiful and is not far to Princess street to walk. The rooms are lovely and clean and I think it's a good idea for the shower unit and toilet to be seperate. The only down is that there is no tea or coffee in your room. You go down to the dining area for free tea or coffee to have a free cup 24 hours a day. To be fair who wants to troop downstairs in the middle of the night for a cuppa if you can,t sleep, I wouldn,t. The breakfast has lots of choices which would keep everyone happy. I would definitely go back there for a longer break. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable."

Apex Grassmarket Hotel

8/10 Good
"The room was mostly clean and well kept, although compact. Tea and instant coffee provided. Room was refreshed every day, fresh towels etc. We were on the 5th floor and had the most beautiful view of the castle and were treated to the sounds and sights of the Military Tattoo by night. Staff were fine, working in Edinburgh in August obviously takes its toll! One mature gentleman, in a blue shirt was hugely friendly and went above and beyond for us during our stay. The pool was compact but okay, nice little sauna too. A good way to unwind after a day exploring the city. We really enjoyed the nearby cafes and bars. So didn’t make use of the restaurant or bar in the hotel. Our stay was very expensive, to be expected in Edinburgh in August."
